This is an event in memory of Anne-Marie Javouhey, founder of the Congregation of Saint-Joseph of Cluny and of the village of Mana in French Guiana, which she built with 500 African men and women, victims of the clandestine slave trade, a village that challenged the colonial and slavery system, but also the French society of her time.

These events are taking place on the occasion of:
  • the 70th anniversary of her beatification (15 October 1950) in Rome
  • the 170th anniversary of her death (15 July 1851) in Paris
  • the bicentenary of the discovery of the future site of Mana.
