After the devastating earthquake of 12 January 2010, the sisters have shown, sometimes heroically, their missionary spirit, as true daughters of Anne-Marie Javouhey.

Despite the advanced age of many sisters of the Province of Haiti, the works remain alive and well. Most of us are involved in the field of education.

After the earthquake, classes continued in precarious conditions. Fortunately, we have experienced the "Cor Unum" of the Congregation through generous donations from both the Mother House and all the communities worldwide.

The Jubilee of the 150th anniversary of the Congregation in Haiti, gave birth to beautiful celebrations of praise and thanksgiving, among others, that of the closing of the anniversary year, with Sister Carmen Moranville, Assistant General, being present. One of the fruits of this jubilee year, is the birth of a common project between three Institutes – the Priestly Society of St. Jacques (SPSJ), the Brothers of Christian Instruction (FIC) and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny (SJC). It is an education center with a cafeteria in a poor neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, Cité Soleil. Sister Christiane Gervais, our Provincial, is the Vice President of the Administrative Committee and one of our sisters devotes herself to it with great zeal and love.

Other types of missions:

• the retirement home in Orangers, Jacmel, welcoming priests, religious, and laity
• also in Jacmel, a center for social services, allowing young girls in the area to prepare for life.

We continue to rely on the Lord who sends us vocations for the next generation, and we give thanks!
